What Golden Boot Coach can see
The coach answers from your real numbers, so here is exactly what it reads when you ask it something, and what it never touches.
It reads
- ✓Your account balances by name and type, from Plaid or entered by hand.
- ✓A summary of your cash flow: average income, spending, net cash flow, savings rate, and the names of recurring bills and income sources.
- ✓Your wellness score and the parts that make it up.
- ✓Your Game Plan and Paycheck Plan: the priority and the amounts.
- ✓The answers you chose to give in your profile.
- ✓Facts you told it before, kept in a memory list you can see and delete.
It never sees
- ✕Your bank logins or passwords. Plaid handles the connection; Golden Boot never holds them.
- ✕Every transaction line by line. It gets a summary, not your statement.
- ✕Anyone else's data. Your coach sees only you.
- ✕And your employer never sees yours. Employers get anonymous totals only, withheld below 10 people.
If it doesn't have a number in front of it, it says so instead of guessing. Every figure the coach uses is the same one shown on your dashboard, so the two can never disagree.

Why it is safe to connect your accounts
Two specialists stand between you and Golden Boot: one for your bank connections, one for your login. Here is what each one does.
Plaid connects your accounts
- ✓You log in to your bank on Plaid's screen. Your username and password go to Plaid, never to Golden Boot.
- ✓Access is read-only. Golden Boot can see balances and transactions; it cannot move, withdraw, or transfer money.
- ✓Plaid is the same connection layer behind Venmo, Robinhood, and thousands of other apps.
- ✓Disconnect any institution from Profile at any time, and the access ends there.
Clerk handles sign-in
- ✓Sign in with Google, Apple, or a passkey, or with an email and password that Clerk stores, not Golden Boot.
- ✓Golden Boot never sees your password. It receives only a short-lived signed token that proves who you are.
- ✓See every device signed in, and sign any of them out, from your account menu. Delete your account from Profile.

Golden Boot holds no bank password and no login password. What it keeps is what it shows you: balances, transactions, your goals, and your plan, sent over encrypted connections and removed when you delete your account, apart from the signed agreements it is required to keep.
